Randolph Board of Civil Authority

The members of the Board of Civil Authority includes the selectboard members, the elected Justices of the Peace, and the Town Clerk. This board has the responsibility of: reviewing applications for addition to the checklist and approving the applications; purging the checklist every two years and assist with the running of elections (assistance during voting hours, tallying ballots at the close of the election); and hearing grievances from taxpayers (if the taxpayer disagrees with the Board of Listers decision on the property assessment).

The members of the Board of Abatement includes the selectboard members, the elected Justices of the Peace, the Town Clerk and the Board of Listers. This board is responsible for hearing taxpayer requests for abatement of taxes (based on criteria stated in the Vermont State Statutes).
